Bathroom Fixture Installation in Massachusetts
Faucets, toilets, shower heads, lighting, exhaust fans, towel bars, grab bars, mirrors โ installed properly, sealed properly, code-compliant. No full bathroom remodel required to refresh how your bathroom works and feels.
Not every bathroom needs a full remodel. Sometimes what you actually need is a new faucet that doesn’t drip, a quieter exhaust fan, a brighter vanity light, a comfort-height toilet, or grab bars in the right places โ installed by someone who knows what they’re doing. A weekend handyman job that turns into a leaking faucet, a wobbly toilet, or a code-violation light fixture can cost you more than just hiring a contractor in the first place.
At JM All-Pro Services, we install bathroom fixtures of all kinds โ supplied by you or sourced through us. Every install is done with proper materials (no plastic compression fittings, no cheap caulk), tested for leaks, and brought to Massachusetts code standards. Same-day appointments are sometimes available for single-fixture jobs.

Faucet Installations & Configurations
Faucet installs vary based on the existing rough-in configuration โ number of holes in the sink or counter, distance between hot/cold supplies, and what type of faucet you’ve selected:
Single-Hole Faucet
One handle, one mounting hole. Modern minimalist look. Easiest to clean around. Most common modern install.
Widespread Faucet
Spout and two handles separated by 8″ or more. Traditional and transitional bathrooms. Requires 3 holes in sink/counter.
Centerset Faucet
Three holes within 4″ center-to-center. Connected on a single base plate. Standard for budget bathrooms.
Wall-Mount Faucet
Comes out of the wall above the sink. Modern look. Requires in-wall plumbing rough-in (not just a swap).
Vessel Sink Faucet
Tall faucet designed for vessel sinks (bowls sitting on top of counter). Higher spout reach needed.
Touchless / Smart Faucet
Motion-activated or touch-activated faucets. Requires power source โ battery or AC adapter under sink.
Shower Head & Valve Upgrades
Replacing just the shower head and trim can dramatically improve how a shower feels and performs โ often without opening up any walls:
Wall-Mount Shower Head
Standard fixed head on wall arm. Simple replacement, no valve change needed.
1.8-2.5 GPMRain Shower Head
Larger diameter (8″-12″), ceiling or wall mount. Soft, full-coverage flow. May require valve upgrade.
2.0-2.5 GPMHandheld with Slide Bar
Adjustable height wand on slide bar. Great for cleaning shower, accessibility, shaving legs.
1.8-2.5 GPMDual System (Fixed + Hand)
Both fixed head and handheld on the same valve with diverter. Most versatile option.

Code RequiredBody Sprays / Multi-Jet
Multiple side jets for full-body coverage. Requires significant valve manifold upgrade.
Wall Open RequiredToilet Replacement Options
If you’re already tired of cleaning around an old toilet, replacing it is one of the most cost-effective upgrades to a bathroom. Here’s what to know about the main types:
Standard Height
14″-15″ seat height- Most affordable option
- Original-style proportions
- Works for shorter household members
- Harder to use as you age
Comfort Height (ADA)
17″-19″ seat height- Easier on knees and hips
- Best for adults & aging-in-place
- Matches chair height
- Most-requested install we do
One-Piece Toilet
Tank + bowl one unit- Easier to clean (no tank seam)
- Modern streamlined look
- More expensive than two-piece
- Heavier โ harder to move
Wall-Mounted
Tank hidden in wall- Maximum floor space saved
- Highly modern look
- Easier to clean around
- Requires in-wall carrier system
Bathroom Lighting Done Right
๐ก Layered Lighting Is the Secret
Most outdated bathrooms have one ceiling light fixture and a sad vanity bulb that creates shadows under the eyes. Modern bathrooms use 3 layers: ambient (ceiling), task (vanity), and accent (recessed or in-shower). Here’s what we install most:
Vanity Light Bars
Above-mirror linear LED fixtures. Provides shadow-free task lighting for makeup, shaving.
โธ 2700K-3000K warm whiteWall Sconces
Flanking the mirror on both sides. Provides face-level light from both directions โ most flattering.
โธ At eye level (60″-65″ AFF)Recessed Cans
4″ or 6″ recessed downlights in the ceiling. Provides ambient overall lighting throughout the room.
โธ Wet-rated near tub/showerBacklit LED Mirrors
Mirrors with built-in LED edge or backlight. Modern look, eliminates need for additional vanity lights.
โธ Requires hardwired connectionWet-Rated Shower Light
Sealed recessed LED inside the shower enclosure. Eliminates the dark-cave feel.
โธ IP65 wet rating requiredDimmer Switches
Replacing standard switches with dimmers lets you set ambient lighting for relaxing baths vs. bright morning lighting.
โธ LED-compatible requiredWhy Your Exhaust Fan Matters More Than You Think
An undersized or non-working bathroom exhaust fan is the #1 cause of peeling paint, mold behind walls, and damaged drywall above showers. Massachusetts code requires proper ventilation for any bathroom without a window. CFM rating must match the bathroom size:
Mirrors, Cabinets & Bathroom Accessories
The small fixtures that don’t seem like much individually but make a huge difference in how the bathroom functions every day:
Wall-Mounted Mirrors
Frameless, framed, beveled, or backlit. Hung at proper height with wall anchors that match the weight.
Medicine Cabinets
Surface-mount or recessed. Recessed installs require opening the wall and adding blocking.
Towel Bars
Standard 18″, 24″, or 30″ lengths. Anchored into studs or with toggle anchors rated for towel weight.
Towel Rings & Hooks
Beside the sink for hand towels. Robe hooks near the shower for towel access.
Toilet Paper Holders
Wall-mounted at proper height (26″-32″) and 8″-12″ from the front of the toilet bowl.
Glass Shelves & Corners
Tempered glass shelves for shower or above-toilet storage. Properly anchored into studs.
Grab Bars & Accessibility Hardware
Grab bars only work if they’re anchored properly โ into stud blocking, not just drywall. Improperly installed grab bars are dangerous. We install grab bars rated for 250+ lbs of pull force, locate proper stud blocking, and use marine-grade hardware to prevent corrosion in wet environments:

โ Common DIY & Handyman Fixture Mistakes
These are the install issues we get called to fix most often when someone else (or the homeowner) did the original work:
โ Over-Tightened Connections
Compression fittings cranked too tight crack the brass and create slow leaks under the sink.
โ Plastic Supply Lines
Cheap plastic supply tubes burst over time. Should be braided stainless steel for proper longevity.
โ No Caulk Between Faucet & Counter
Water gets under the faucet base and damages the countertop or vanity over time. Easy fix done right the first time.
โ Wax Ring Reused
Wax rings are one-time use. Reused wax = slow leak around the toilet base for months before you notice.
โ Wrong-Height Light Mounting
Vanity lights mounted too high or too low create shadows or glare. Code minimum height: 6 feet from floor for above-mirror lights.
โ Non-GFCI Outlets in Bathroom
MA code requires GFCI protection in all bathroom outlets. Standard outlets in bathrooms are a code violation and a shock risk.
โ Grab Bars in Drywall Anchors Only
Drywall anchors are not rated for grab bar weight. Bars must be anchored into stud or proper blocking โ period.
โ Exhaust Fan Venting into Attic
Old fans vent into the attic instead of outside. Creates moisture and mold in the attic. Must be ducted to exterior.

Bathroom Fixture Installation FAQs
Can I buy fixtures myself and just hire you to install?
Yes. Many homeowners buy fixtures from Home Depot, Lowes, Wayfair, Build.com, Amazon, or directly from manufacturer websites. We install supplied fixtures at our labor rate without markup. Just confirm the fixtures arrive on site before our scheduled install date.
How fast can you install a single fixture like a faucet?
A standard vanity faucet replacement takes 1-2 hours including testing. Single-fixture jobs are sometimes available same-day depending on schedule. We give you a clear window for the appointment instead of “between 8 and 5.”
Do I need a permit for fixture installations in MA?
Generally no for like-for-like replacements (same location, no plumbing/electrical changes). New work involving plumbing relocation, electrical additions, or structural changes may require permits. We’ll let you know during the estimate.
Can you install a toilet I bought from Home Depot?
Yes, we install homeowner-supplied toilets every week. We inspect the toilet on arrival, verify it matches the existing rough-in dimensions, and install with new wax ring (or wax-free seal) and proper bolts. Old toilet hauled away if needed.
My exhaust fan is super loud โ can you replace it with a quieter one?
Absolutely. Modern fans rated under 1.5 sones are nearly silent. We can match the existing duct connection and electrical, or upgrade to a fan/light combo or fan with humidity sensor. CFM rating sized to your bathroom dimensions.
Will you install grab bars in my shower?
Yes. We locate stud blocking, install grab bars rated for 250+ lbs of pull force, and use marine-grade hardware. If proper blocking isn’t in place, we can add it but that may require opening up the wall behind the tile.
Can you replace just the shower trim without opening the wall?
Yes if the existing valve is in good condition. Trim kits (handle, escutcheon plate, spout, shower head) replace from the outside without opening walls. If the valve itself needs replacement, the wall typically has to be opened.
What about lighting upgrades โ do I need an electrician?
For like-for-like swaps (replacing an existing vanity light with a new one), we handle it directly. For adding new sconces, recessed lighting, or new circuits, we work with a licensed electrician to ensure code compliance and inspections.
Do you offer warranty on installations?
Yes. Our labor is warranted for 1 year against installation defects. The fixture manufacturer’s warranty (often 1-10 years depending on brand) covers product defects. We give you all documentation at handoff.
How do I get started?
Call (508) 925-0396 or text photos of what needs replacing along with rough measurements. We’ll respond with a written estimate within 24-48 hours and schedule the install at your convenience.
Ready to Refresh Your Bathroom Fixtures?
Schedule a free estimate. Single faucet swap or full multi-fixture refresh โ we’ll quote it, install it, test it, and walk you through every detail before we leave.
