Handyman Services Small jobs done right by a licensed MA contractor — not a guy from Craigslist.
Need something fixed, installed, or repaired around the house? We handle the small jobs that don’t need a full renovation crew — but still deserve a licensed, insured professional. Drywall patches, door adjustments, shelving, faucet swaps, trim repairs, and the 100 other things on your to-do list.
Your To-Do List Has Been Growing for Months
That drywall hole from the doorknob. The bathroom caulk that’s been peeling since last winter. The shelf that needs to go up in the garage. The door that sticks every time it rains. The leaky faucet you’ve been meaning to replace. None of these are big enough to call a “renovation contractor” — but they’re real enough to bother you every single day.
Most homeowners have 5-10 small repairs and installations waiting at any given time. They pile up because each one feels too small to hire someone for, and too annoying to fix yourself on a Saturday. That’s exactly what our handyman service is for — clearing the entire list in one visit. A licensed contractor who shows up, works through your list efficiently, does each item properly, and leaves with everything done.
At JM All-Pro Services, handyman work is handled by the same MA-licensed, insured team that does our full renovations. That means your “small job” gets the same quality, the same insurance protection, and the same accountability as a kitchen remodel. The difference between us and an unlicensed handyman? When something goes wrong, your homeowner’s insurance actually covers it.

Licensed Contractor vs Unlicensed “Handyman”
Anyone can call themselves a handyman. Massachusetts does not license the title “handyman” — which means anyone with a toolbox can knock on your door. Here’s the difference between hiring an unlicensed person from an app vs a licensed contractor for small jobs:
Unlicensed Handyman
- No MA license to verify
- No insurance (you’re liable if they’re injured)
- No recourse if work is bad
- No workers’ comp coverage
- May not pull permits when needed
- No accountability after payment
JM All-Pro (Licensed)
- MA CSL #121166, HIC #214808
- Fully insured — liability + workers’ comp
- State recourse if disputes arise
- Your insurance covers our work
- Permits pulled when required
- Local business — we’re here tomorrow

Notice something during the handyman visit that needs more work? We can scope and quote larger projects on the spot.
7Same-Week Scheduling
Most handyman visits can be scheduled within the same week. Urgent items (grab bars for hospital discharge, leak repairs) prioritized.

Handyman FAQs
How much does a handyman visit cost?
We price handyman work based on time and materials. Half-day visits (up to 4 hours) are the most common booking — enough time to handle 3-6 items from your list. Full-day visits handle longer lists and are a better per-hour value. Single-item visits are available for focused jobs like TV mounting or grab bar installation. Materials cost is separate and at retail — we don’t mark up parts. Written estimates or phone quotes based on your list.
Is there a minimum charge or trip fee?
Yes — we have a minimum visit charge that covers travel time and basic setup. This applies to even the smallest single-item visit. The minimum is equivalent to roughly one hour of work. For most homeowners, bringing a list of 3+ items per visit provides the best value since the trip charge is spread across multiple completed items.
Why should I hire a licensed contractor for handyman work?
Two reasons: liability and quality. If an unlicensed person is injured at your home, your homeowner’s insurance may be responsible for their medical bills. A licensed contractor carries their own workers’ comp and liability insurance — protecting you. On quality: a licensed contractor does handyman work to the same standard as renovation work because their license is on the line with every job, regardless of size.
Can you handle electrical and plumbing?
We handle basic fixture swaps — faucet replacement, light fixture replacement, outlet and switch plate changes, ceiling fan swaps. These are standard handyman tasks. For anything involving new circuits, panel work, or running new plumbing lines, we coordinate with licensed electricians and plumbers. The distinction: replacing an existing fixture = handyman. Adding new circuits or pipes = licensed tradesperson.
How many items can you handle in one visit?
Depends on complexity. Simple items (hanging pictures, replacing outlet covers, tightening cabinet hardware) take 10-15 minutes each — you can get 15-20 done in a half-day. Medium items (drywall patches, faucet replacement, door adjustments) take 30-60 minutes each — 4-6 per half-day. Complex items (TV mounting with wire concealment, multiple grab bar installations, shelf systems) take 1-2 hours each. We estimate time when you send your list.
Do I need to buy the materials or do you?
Either works. If you’ve already bought the faucet, shelf brackets, or light fixture — great, we install what you have. If you haven’t, tell us what you need and we’ll source and bring the materials. Materials are billed at retail cost — we don’t mark them up. For specialty items (specific faucet model, matching cabinet hardware), it’s often better for you to select and purchase to ensure it’s exactly what you want.
Can I add items during the visit?
Absolutely. Many homeowners discover additional items once the work is underway — “while you’re here, can you also look at this?” If it’s within the remaining time of your visit, we’ll add it. If it extends beyond the scheduled time, we discuss before proceeding so there are no surprises.
Do you do painting as a handyman service?
Small touch-up painting — yes (patch a hole, prime, paint over it). Full room painting is a separate service with its own pricing because it requires different prep, equipment, and time. If your handyman visit reveals that a room needs full repainting, we can quote that separately during the same visit.
How fast can you schedule a handyman visit?
Most handyman visits can be scheduled within the same week — sometimes next-day for urgent items. Grab bar installations for hospital discharge, leak repairs, and security-related items (broken locks, damaged doors) are prioritized for fastest scheduling. Call (508) 925-0396 and let us know if it’s urgent.
How do I get started?
Call (508) 925-0396, text us, or submit the online quote form. The best approach: send us your list of items (photos help for things like drywall damage or specific fixtures). We estimate time needed and schedule a visit — usually within the same week. Bring as many items as possible to each visit for best value.
⚒ Stop Staring at That To-Do List
Send us your list. We show up, work through it, and leave with everything done. Licensed, insured, reliable — the handyman service that actually shows up. Half-day and full-day visits available. Same-week scheduling.
